Section 380 (1) of the Criminal Code in Canada :

Everyone who, by deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means, wheather or not it is a false pretence within the meaning of the act, defrauds the public or any person, whether ascertained or not, of any property, money or any service, is guilty of an indictable offence.....................

If you believe that you are the victim of a scam, you may have lost significant amounts of money and, in some cases even your good name. Proving a fraud actually happened however can be complicated. The evidence you gather on your own may not be admissible in court.

Over the years i have worked on several fraud cases in Quebec helping clients by gathering the evidence necessary in building a file which can then be presented to their attorney, or the local authorities (Police).

When hiring a private investigator, he or she will work on your case as quickly as possible without any disruption. Often Police Department investigators are overloaded with files, and may take some time before they even begin looking into your case, however it is very important to contact your local Police Department first and foremost and file a complaint with reference to the scam you believe that you are a victim of.
